Summary

About the Role:

Smart Solutions are currently recruiting for a Recycling Operative to join our client based in Newport.

This is an excellent opportunity to secure ongoing work with a well-established recycling and waste management business. The successful candidate will support the efficient processing of recyclable materials while maintaining high standards of health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

. Safely cut and open baled recyclable and waste materials in line with site procedures.

. Inspect incoming materials for contamination, prohibited items, and quality concerns.

. Sort, segregate, and move recyclable and waste materials throughout the facility.

. Operate hand tools and equipment safely and effectively.

. Support loading and unloading of vehicles delivering and collecting materials.

. Carry out general recycling operative duties, including picking line work and material handling.

. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness across the site.

. Follow all health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures.

. Report hazards, defects, contamination issues, and safety concerns promptly.

. Assist with routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.

. Work flexibly across different operational areas as required.

. Attend training sessions and toolbox talks to support continuous improvement.
