Summary
This is a commercially focused Data Analyst position.
You will analyse data from our booking channels and internal systems to help management understand performance, improve pricing decisions, increase revenue and maximise profitability.
A particularly important part of the role will be pricing and revenue analysis. You will use historical and current booking data, occupancy, demand, seasonality, booking patterns and market information to help determine the most effective pricing strategies for our properties.
The role will also involve contributing to the development of our own booking and accommodation-management platform, which is currently being developed as part of the company's growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse booking, occupancy, revenue and operational data across our accommodation portfolio.
Analyse data from 17+ booking and distribution platforms.
Monitor performance across Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo, Your.Rentals and other platforms.
Develop data-driven pricing and revenue strategies.
Analyse demand, seasonality, booking patterns and occupancy to recommend pricing changes.
Identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve overall profitability.
Compare performance and profitability across different booking channels.
Analyse commissions, cancellations, booking lead times and length of stay.
Produce regular management reports and dashboards.
Develop revenue and occupancy forecasts.
Identify trends, anomalies and opportunities within business data.
Clean, validate and consolidate data from multiple sources.
Automate repetitive reporting and data-processing tasks using Python.
Work with APIs and structured data where required.
Analyse guest reviews and other operational information to identify trends.
Provide clear, commercially useful recommendations to management.
Support business planning, budgeting and forecasting.
Develop analytical tools and processes to improve decision-making.
Carry out ad-hoc analysis and commercial research as required.
Pricing & Profitability
A major responsibility of this position will be helping the company maximise revenue and profit through data-driven pricing decisions.
You will be expected to analyse factors such as:
Occupancy levels
Booking demand
Seasonal trends
Advance booking patterns
Length of stay
Cancellation rates
Property performance
Booking-channel performance
Competitor and market pricing
Platform commissions
Net revenue
The objective is to ensure that our properties are priced competitively while maximising the financial return to the business.
You will present your findings and recommendations to management and monitor the results of pricing decisions.
Month-End Requirement
The role includes a specific month-end reporting responsibility.
You will be required to work on the last Saturday of every calendar month to ensure that booking, revenue, occupancy, pricing and operational data for the month has been collected, checked and compiled for management reporting.
This is a planned part of the role's normal working pattern and working hours.
Essential Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone with:
Previous professional experience in data analysis, business analysis, revenue analysis or a related analytical position.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Excellent Excel/spreadsheet skills.
Practical Python programming experience.
Practical Git/GitHub experience.
Experience working with and analysing large datasets.
Experience cleaning and transforming data.
Ability to identify trends and patterns in business data.
Ability to produce clear management reports.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to turn data into practical commercial recommendations.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Willingness to work on the last Saturday of each month as part of the month-end reporting process.

A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject such as:

Relevant professional experience and demonstrated technical ability will also be considered.
Salary & Benefits
£35,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on relevant experience, qualifications and technical skills.
