Key Responsibilities
-Collect, segregate, and safely store all waste streams for collection by approved subcontractors in accordance with site procedures, and environmental regulations.
-Collect and safely store all soiled linen for collection by subcontractors during weekend service periods, ensuring compliance with infection prevention and control procedures.
-Carry out equipment, furniture, and departmental moves as requested, ensuring safe handling and completion within agreed response times.
-Maintain waste areas in a clean, organised, and safe condition.
-Complete all quality assurance documentation, records, and electronic systems accurately and in a timely manner.
-Report incidents, hazards, defects, and non-compliance issues in accordance with organisational procedures.
-Ensure all duties are undertaken in line with Health and Safety legislation, manual handling regulations, infection prevention requirements, and site policies.
-Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately and at all times when required.
-Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when interacting with patients, visitors, clinical staff, and colleagues.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
-Understanding of health and safety requirements in a workplace environment.
-Ability to follow procedures and work safely with minimal supervision.
-Good communication and teamwork skills.
-Ability to carry out manual handling activities safely.
-Basic literacy and numeracy skills to complete records and documentation accurately.
-Experience working within a healthcare, facilities management, waste, or logistics environment.
-Knowledge of waste segregation and infection prevention procedures.
