Summary
A Vacancy at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The postholder is required to play a key role in the operational and clinical management of cardiology elective patients. They will work closely with the clinical teams and apply clinical expertise to meet the particular needs of all cardiac patients. They will be expected to take part in the development of protocol driven management of patients and the prescribing of medications and therapies within this patient group using SOPs
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to play a key role in the operational and clinical management of cardiology elective patients. The successful applicant will be part of a small team working closely with the medical teams and they will apply clinical expertise to meet the particular needs of these patients.
Key Aspects of the Role
• Responsibility for arranging the admission, assessment and discharge of elective cardiology patients.
• The development of advanced patient assessment skills and techniques including history taking, physical examination and chest auscultation
• Co-ordination and implementation of agreed treatment protocols for the patient.
• Prescribing of authorised medications using an individual scope of practice once appropriately qualified
Requirements
• Minimum of 4 years post registration experience, of which 2 years within the speciality.
• Post registration Cardiac course
