Job Advert

Technical Training Manager

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + Car Allowance

Location: National role – initially based at our Middlesbrough sites, with regular travel across our UK network

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Training Manager to join The Compleat Food Group and lead the development and delivery

of our technical learning and development agenda across our UK sites.

This is a national role, working across our network of manufacturing sites to ensure our people have the knowledge, skills and

competencies needed to consistently manufacture safe, legal and high-quality food.

The immediate focus will be supporting our Middlesbrough sites, so you’ll be expected to spend significant time based there

initially. However, this is not a permanent Middlesbrough-based position. As the role develops, you’ll work across our wider UK

network and should therefore be comfortable with regular UK travel and overnight stays where required.

You’ll combine strong technical expertise with a passion for learning and development, helping to build a consistent culture of

technical capability, compliance and continuous improvement across the organisation.

What you’ll be doing

* Support the development and ongoing review of our Technical Learning & Development Strategy.

* Lead the delivery of technical, food safety, quality, food integrity, compliance and manufacturing training through a mix of

classroom and virtual learning.

* Develop and maintain engaging training materials, presentations, handouts and competency assessments.

* Ensure training content remains current and aligned with legislation, retailer standards and business requirements.

* Establish competency-based assessment programmes to ensure learning is understood and effectively applied.

* Ensure training is delivered within required timescales and that accurate training records are maintained.

* Analyse training data and trends to identify opportunities to improve capability and compliance.

* Work closely with site HR and Training teams to identify emerging training needs and opportunities.

* Keep up to date with retailer-specific training requirements and identify opportunities to develop effective internal

solutions.

* Lead, coach and develop the Technical Training Coordinator.

* Build strong relationships with Technical, Quality, HR and Operational teams across the business.

* Champion a culture of continuous learning and development across the organisation.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be an experienced Technical Training Manager, Lead Technical Trainer or similar, with a strong background within food

manufacturing, technical or quality environments.

You'll ideally have:

* Experience developing and delivering competency-based training programmes within food manufacturing.

* Strong knowledge of BRCGS, retailer standards and food safety legislation.

* Experience working with food safety, technical, quality and compliance requirements.

* Knowledge of food fraud prevention, vulnerability assessments and traceability.

* An understanding of Root Cause Analysis methodologies.

* Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Microsoft Office.

* Train the Trainer qualification.

* HACCP Level 4 or equivalent.

* Food Safety Level 4 or equivalent.

* Strong influencing, communication and interpersonal skills.

* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

* A proactive approach with a genuine desire to drive continuous improvement.

National travel

This role covers all of our UK manufacturing sites, making regular travel an essential part of the position.

The immediate priority will be our Middlesbrough sites, where you’ll spend significant time initially. As the role develops, your

focus will broaden across the wider Compleat network.

You must therefore be comfortable with frequent UK travel and overnight stays as required.
