Summary
Turing is seeking Data Scientists and Analysts proficient in Python to help push the frontiers of AI technology. You will work with companies in the US developing commercial and research AI solutions, writing effective Python code to tackle complex problems while applying business sense and analytical skill to draw insights from public datasets such as those from Kaggle, the UN and government sources.
Day to day:
- Design, develop and maintain efficient, high-quality code to train and optimise AI models
- Run evaluations to benchmark model performance and analyse results for continuous improvement
- Evaluate and rank AI model responses across diverse domains against predefined criteria, writing clear rationales for each judgement
- Lead supervised fine-tuning work, creating and maintaining high-quality task-specific datasets
- Collaborate with researchers and annotators on reinforcement learning with human feedback, refining reward models
- Design evaluation strategies that improve alignment with user needs and ethical guidelines
- Conduct peer reviews of code and documentation, giving constructive feedback
Contract details: a one-month contractor assignment with no medical or paid leave, starting next week. The minimum commitment is 4 hours per day and 20 hours per week, with 4 hours of overlap with US Pacific time. Commitment options are 20, 30 or 40 hours per week.
Evaluation process: two interview rounds totalling around 75 minutes, comprising a 60-minute technical interview and a 15-minute cultural and offer discussion.
