Cover Supervisor - SEND Provision - Totnes, Devon

We are currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to join an excellent and highly regarded school in the Totnes, Devon area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant or education professional looking to develop their experience within a specialist SEND setting.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll support pupils across the school by delivering pre-planned lessons and maintaining a positive, structured learning environment.

You'll be responsible for:

- Delivering lessons and activities in the absence of the class teacher

- Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs

- Working with smaller groups and providing individual support where required

- Following lesson plans and adapting activities where appropriate

- Managing behaviour positively and consistently

- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils

- Supporting engagement, confidence and progress

- Working closely with teachers, Teaching Assistants and the wider school team

The Ideal Candidate

We're keen to hear from experienced Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants and education professionals who are confident working with young people and managing a classroom environment.

Previous SEND experience would be advantageous, but a genuine interest in developing within specialist education is equally important.

You'll ideally be:

- Experienced working with children or young people in an educational setting

- Confident managing behaviour and maintaining classroom expectations

- Patient, adaptable and approachable

- Comfortable supporting pupils with additional needs

- Able to follow lesson plans and work independently

- A strong communicator and reliable team player
