Summary

Due to the nature of the service and the needs of the female residents we support, this position is open to women only. Being a woman is an occupational requirement for this role under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

As a Part-Time Female Care Warden working across our clients’ supported housing facilities, you will help protect the safety, security and wellbeing of residents, staff and visitors.

This vacancy is specifically intended for women seeking part-time daytime work. The role combines proactive security, resident-focused interaction, safeguarding awareness and a range of operational responsibilities.

We are recruiting female Care Wardens to work part-time daytime shifts across all seven days of the week, including weekends.

Applicants must be regularly available for various shifts scheduled between:

• Monday to Sunday: 9:00am to 5:00pm

Individual shifts will be scheduled within these hours and may not cover the full 9:00am to 5:00pm period.

Please only apply if you are seeking part-time work and can provide regular daytime availability across weekdays and weekends. This position is not suitable for applicants seeking full-time hours or evening work.

Additional shifts may occasionally be offered depending on operational requirements, but these are not guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities

The role of a Care Warden is varied. Your duties will include:

• Monitoring CCTV and responding to unusual, suspicious or unsafe activity.

• Completing regular patrols and identifying security breaches, hazards, maintenance concerns and other issues.

• Undertaking welfare-related duties and responding appropriately to concerns regarding residents.

• Completing daily occurrence logs, incident reports, welfare records, handovers and first-aid documentation accurately.

• Reporting maintenance or repair requirements that may affect the safety, security or operation of the site.

• Liaising professionally with emergency services, local authorities, clients, support teams and other agencies.

• Completing identity and access checks and ensuring only authorised individuals enter the premises.

• Providing a high standard of service to residents, clients, visitors and colleagues.

• Responding calmly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, disputes and challenging situations.

• Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries within supported housing environments.

• Keeping the security office and surrounding work areas clean, tidy and free from hazards.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Female Only. This is an occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 due to the nature of the service and the needs of the female residents supported.

• Hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding licence.

• Hold a full, valid UK driving licence.

• Have access to a reliable vehicle for travelling to and from work.

• Be specifically seeking part-time employment.

• Be regularly available for daytime shifts between 9:00am and 5:00pm, Monday to Sunday, including weekends.

• Be proficient in both written and spoken English.

• Communicate clearly, professionally and accurately with residents, clients, colleagues, emergency services and other agencies.

• Be able to complete reports, logs, handovers, welfare records and other operational documentation accurately.

• Demonstrate excellent punctuality, reliability and timekeeping.

• Remain calm and professional when responding to incidents or challenging situations.

• Demonstrate good judgement and an understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.

• Show a compassionate and respectful approach towards residents, including those with complex or additional needs.

Safeguarding and Background Checks

Due to the nature of the environments in which we operate, successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate screening and background checks.

You must provide a complete five-year employment history and account for any gaps. We will contact relevant previous employers to verify this information.

Additional right-to-work, identity, licensing and background checks may also be completed during recruitment and onboarding.

Experience and Training

Previous security experience is not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.

Working within supported housing may involve contact with individuals experiencing complex circumstances. Candidates must remain professional, respectful, observant and composed while maintaining clear boundaries.
