Summary
Core Responsibilities Consultations: delivery of 15minute appointments both face to face and telephone based consultations to assess, diagnose, and treat patients as needed. Prescribing & Medication: Issue acute and repeat prescriptions and interpret complex test results. Patient Referrals: Make autonomous decisions on when to refer patients to secondary care (hospitals) or other allied health professionals. Care Planning: Develop and monitor long-term care plans for chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, hypertension). Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, compile data for clinical audits, and review clinical correspondence. Broad clinical expertise to handle varied, unpredictable patient presentations. Time Management: The ability to make safe, accurate clinical decisions under pressure within standard 10-minute appointment slots. Communication: Exceptional bedside manner and active listening skills to address physical, emotional, and social factors of care. Supervision of GP Trainees and Medical Students within a clinical setting where required. Attendance and participation at meetings encouraged. Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
