We are looking for an experienced Productivity & Collaboration Specialist (M365 Specialist) to join a busy technology team and play a key role in supporting, developing and continually improving the organisation’s Microsoft 365 collaboration environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an M365 specialist with strong technical support and configuration experience who enjoys solving complex problems, improving user experience and helping organisations get the maximum value from their collaboration technology.
The Role
As Productivity & Collaboration Specialist, you will be responsible for analysing user and business requirements, designing and configuring effective collaboration solutions and providing expert 3rd line support across the Microsoft 365 collaboration suite.
You will work closely with colleagues, service desk teams, users and external suppliers to investigate and resolve technical issues, implement improvements and ensure M365 services remain effective, secure, well governed and aligned with organisational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse, design and configure new collaboration solutions, selecting the most appropriate Microsoft 365 collaboration products and services to meet user and business requirements.
Ensure new solutions are implemented in line with appropriate governance processes, standards and procedures.
Provide 3rd line technical support for collaboration tools, receiving and managing escalated requests from service desk teams, service delivery colleagues and users.
Prioritise support requests according to agreed criteria and ensure unresolved issues are appropriately allocated or escalated.
Investigate and resolve complex technical issues through platform configuration changes, workarounds, enhancements, procedural changes and user guidance.
Escalate issues to other technical platform teams or external suppliers where appropriate.
Produce and maintain clear technical documentation covering configurations, solutions, procedures and support processes.
Ensure all work is undertaken and documented in accordance with required technical standards, methodologies and governance arrangements.
Deliver excellent customer service by monitoring support requests, communicating progress effectively and managing stakeholder expectations.
Contribute to the continual improvement of the organisation’s use of the Microsoft 365 collaboration suite.
Keep up to date with the Microsoft 365 roadmap, new functionality and emerging capabilities, identifying opportunities to improve productivity and collaboration.
Support the development and implementation of improvements across the M365 environment.
Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to colleagues and users where required.
Provide line management and leadership to analysts where necessary.
About You
You will be an experienced Microsoft 365 / Collaboration Specialist with a strong background in enterprise collaboration platforms and 3rd line technical support.
You will have the technical ability to troubleshoot complex M365 issues, configure solutions and translate business and user requirements into effective collaboration services. You will also be comfortable working within formal governance, documentation and change management processes.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as you will regularly work with technical colleagues, service desk teams, users and suppliers. You will be someone who takes ownership of problems, provides excellent customer service and is continually looking for ways to improve the way technology is delivered.
Key Skills & Experience
Strong commercial experience working as a Microsoft 365 / M365 Specialist, Collaboration Specialist or similar.
Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft 365 collaboration ecosystem.
Proven 3rd line support and troubleshooting experience.
Experience analysing requirements and designing/configuring collaboration solutions.
Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 administration, configuration and service management.
Experience working within structured governance, change and technical documentation processes.
Ability to investigate complex incidents and develop effective technical solutions or workarounds.
Experience working with service desks, technical teams, users and third-party suppliers.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
A strong customer-service mindset with the ability to manage expectations and communicate technical issues clearly.
An interest in the Microsoft 365 roadmap and emerging functionality, with the ability to identify opportunities for continual improvement.
Previous experience of mentoring, supervising or line managing technical analysts would be advantageous.
