Crowlin Recovery House is an NHS-commissioned mental health crisis service providing a safe and supportive alternative to hospital admission for adults experiencing mental health difficulties.
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, caring and detail-focused Housekeeper to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation throughout Crowlin Recovery House.
The successful candidate will play an important role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment that supports the comfort, dignity and recovery of our guests.
You will work closely with the Estates & Facilities Lead and wider Recovery House team to ensure all areas of the service are maintained to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across bedrooms, bathrooms, communal areas, offices, kitchen and other service areas.
• Complete routine and deep cleaning, including preparing bedrooms for new guests and sanitising high-touch areas.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including correct use of PPE, cleaning products and colour-coded equipment.
• Manage laundry and linen, ensuring adequate clean supplies are available.
• Monitor cleaning, laundry, PPE and guest supplies, reporting shortages and equipment faults.
• Provide a friendly and respectful presence while maintaining guest privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
• Manage waste and recycling in line with organisational procedures.
• Follow COSHH, health and safety, fire safety and manual handling requirements.
• Report hazards, accidents, maintenance issues and safeguarding concerns promptly.
• Complete cleaning schedules, laundry records, stock records and equipment checks accurately.
Essential Requirements
• Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping or a similar role.
• Good standard of literacy and numeracy.
• Ability to follow cleaning schedules and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail.
• Reliable and organised approach to work.
• Basic understanding of health and safety.
• Willingness to complete mandatory training.
Desirable Experience
• Healthcare or NHS cleaning.
• Mental health or residential care environments.
• Hotel or commercial housekeeping.
• Infection prevention and control.
• COSHH.
• Manual handling.
