As our research and investment activities continue to develop, we are strengthening our internal technology capability and are seeking an IT Systems & Software Developer to join our team in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Role Overview
The IT Systems & Software Developer will design, develop, implement and maintain technology solutions that support Ganita’s financial research, investment-support and operational activities.
The successful candidate will work with internal teams to understand how research projects, information, documents, tasks and reporting are managed and develop systems that improve efficiency, visibility and data organisation.
The role will involve software development, business systems, databases, automation, systems integration, cloud technologies and appropriate use of artificial intelligence.
A key focus will be developing technology that makes research and operational workflows more efficient, including project tracking, research-information management, document workflows, internal reporting and portfolio-monitoring processes.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test and maintain internal software applications and business systems supporting financial research and investment-related operations.
Develop systems for research project tracking, task allocation, workflow management, deadlines and progress monitoring.
Work with internal teams to understand business and research-process requirements and translate them into practical technology solutions.
Build and maintain databases for research projects, business information, documents and operational data.
Develop dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility of research activity, project status, workloads and deadlines.
Automate repetitive processes including notifications, document workflows, approvals, recurring tasks and internal reporting.
Develop integrations between internal applications, databases, APIs, cloud platforms and third-party systems.
Support the development and integration of AI-enabled tools for document processing, information retrieval, internal knowledge search, workflow assistance and reporting.
Assist with Microsoft 365, cloud applications, user access, permissions and internal business systems.
Troubleshoot software and system issues and assist with routine maintenance, updates, backups and security controls.
Test and document new systems, applications and technical processes.
Research and recommend appropriate technologies that can improve Ganita’s financial research and operational capabilities.
