Summary

Room Leader – Level 3

Up to £33,500 per year | 40 Hours per Week

 

This welcoming setting has created a genuine home-away-from-home environment, with light and spacious rooms designed to encourage children to move freely between activities, make their own choices and follow their interests. The nursery itself is full of character, combining a warm atmosphere with thoughtfully arranged spaces that support exploration and independence.

 

Outside, a large purpose-built garden gives children even more freedom to play, investigate and take their learning beyond the nursery rooms.

 

We're looking for an experienced Level 3 Room Leader who can create that same sense of warmth within their room while providing confident leadership and support to the practitioners around them.

 

What We're Looking For

  • Full and relevant

    Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.

  • Previous experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting.

  • Previous

    Room Leader, Senior Practitioner or similar senior experience would be beneficial.

  • Strong knowledge and practical understanding of the

    EYFS framework.

  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

  • Confidence leading, supporting and motivating a room team.

  • Ability to plan engaging experiences around children's individual interests and developmental needs.

  • skills when working with children, families and colleagues.

  • A warm, organised and hands-on approach to leadership.

Creating a Room Children Can Make Their Own

  • Lead the day-to-day running of your room and provide guidance to your team.

  • Create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the nursery's home-away-from-home approach.

  • Plan and oversee engaging experiences in line with the EYFS.

  • Follow children's interests and recognise opportunities to extend their learning naturally.

  • Support children's confidence, creativity, independence and emotional development.

  • Ensure observations and assessments are meaningful and used to inform appropriate next steps.

  • Mentor practitioners and support the continued development of your room team.

  • Build secure relationships with children and positive partnerships with their families.

  • Work closely with the wider nursery team to maintain consistently high standards.

  • Maintain excellent standards of safeguarding, welfare and health and safety.
