A warm and supportive primary school in Rochdale is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Primary Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT who is passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.
About the Role
You will take responsibility for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons in line with the Primary National Curriculum. You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment where pupils feel supported, motivated, and encouraged to succeed.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a KS2 class, working closely with support staff and the wider school team to ensure all pupils receive the support they need.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
- Teach across the KS2 curriculum, with strong subject knowledge in core subjects.
- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, adapting teaching where required.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Support pupils with additional needs, working closely with the SENCO and support staff.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- Uphold the school's behaviour policy and promote positive behaviour for learning.
- Fulfil all professional responsibilities in line with the Teachers' Standards.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
- Has experience teaching in a UK primary school setting (placements accepted for ECTs).
- Strong knowledge of the KS2 Primary National Curriculum.
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Passionate, flexible, and committed to raising attainment.
- Has the right to work in the UK and is available full-time.
- Holds a valid Child Workforce DBS or is willing to obtain one.
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous KS2 teaching experience.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN.
- Strong subject knowledge across English and Maths.
- Experience working within a long-term primary teaching role.
