Graduate Unqualified Teachers to join their teams from
September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are considering a career in teaching and want to gain genuine classroom experience before progressing onto a
PGCE, SCITT, School Direct or other teacher-training route.
The Role
As a Graduate Unqualified Teacher, you will take responsibility for supporting and delivering teaching within your specialist subject area.
Working alongside experienced teachers and department leaders, you will develop your classroom skills while helping students make strong academic progress.
Your responsibilities may include:
• Planning and delivering engaging lessons to secondary-age students.
• Teaching across
Key Stages 3 and 4, with some opportunities for Key Stage 5.
• Leading whole-class learning and activities.
• Supporting students with different abilities and learning needs.
• Setting and marking classwork, homework and assessments.
• Maintaining high standards of behaviour and learning.
• Tracking student progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Supporting revision and exam preparation.
• Working closely with qualified teachers and department staff.
• Developing positive and professional relationships with students.
• Contributing to departmental resources and enrichment activities.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for graduates who are:
• Educated to
degree level, with a
2:1 or above preferred.
• Academically strong within their chosen subject.
• Confident and articulate when communicating with young people.
• Passionate about education and student achievement.
• Organised, resilient and adaptable.
• Confident leading a classroom or eager to develop their teaching skills.
• Able to establish positive relationships and maintain high expectations.
• Interested in progressing into a long-term career in secondary teaching.
• Previous experience in
tutoring, mentoring, coaching, teaching or youth work is desirable but not essential.
