Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from
September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to develop practical experience in a secondary school while working alongside experienced teachers and supporting students across
Key Stages 3 and 4.
The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting teaching and learning across the school.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting teachers during lessons and classroom activities.
• Providing
1:1 and small-group support to students.
• Supporting pupils across core subjects, including
English, Maths and Science.
• Helping students understand challenging topics and develop confidence.
• Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom resources.
• Supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a focused learning environment.
• Helping students develop effective revision and independent study skills.
• Monitoring student engagement and contributing to progress tracking.
• Supporting pupils with a range of abilities and additional learning needs.
• Building positive relationships with students and encouraging academic progress.
Candidate Profile
The school is looking for a graduate who is:
• Educated to
degree level, with a
2:1 or above preferred.
• Strong academically, particularly in
English, Maths or Science.
• Passionate about education and working with young people.
• Confident, approachable and able to communicate effectively.
• Patient, resilient and proactive.
• Able to build positive relationships with students.
• Interested in progressing into
teaching or a wider career in education.
• Previous experience in
tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work or schools is desirable but not essential.
