This post has become available due to a recent growth in pupil numbers for September, which gives us the exciting opportunity to expand our teaching team.Sutherland House School is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic Senior Teaching Assistant to join our team.As part of a supportive staff team, you will have a passion for improving the lives for autistic pupils and their families. You will have a commitment to supporting with lessons and you will engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including families, therapists and external agencies to ensure all pupils are reaching their full potential.Sutherland House School is a non-maintained specialist school for autistic children and young people aged 3-19. The school prides itself on creating personalised learning opportunities with a vision for reaching potential for each individual pupil. We offer small class groups, favourable staffing levels and excellent opportunities for training and professional development. The school has an Ofsted rating of Good. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.As a Senior Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in working with teachers to ensure individualised and group support to autistic children and young people, helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing, tailored educational environment.You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to implement personalised learning plans, adapt teaching materials, and ensure that children’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met.
