SEND Teaching Assistants to support a variety of schools across

Derby and the surrounding areas.

We offer opportunities for

day-to-day supply, short-term, and temporary assignments, providing the flexibility to select roles that suit your availability while gaining valuable experience in diverse educational settings.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants and support staff who are dedicated to helping children with additional needs feel confident, included, and supported throughout their education.

Key Responsibilities

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, your duties may include:

    • Providing

    1:1 and small-group support to pupils

    • Supporting children with a range of additional needs

    • Encouraging positive engagement with learning

    • Adapting activities to meet individual needs and abilities

    • Supporting pupils’ social and emotional development

    • Promoting independence, confidence, and positive behaviour

    • Collaborating closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff

    • Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

    Person Specification

      • Experience supporting children or young people with

      SEND

      • Patient, caring, and resilient nature

      • Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils

      • Strong communication skills

      • Flexibility to adapt to various school environments

      • Genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential

      Experience supporting needs such as

      Autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, learning challenges, or social and emotional needs is highly desirable.
