Our school is set in a beautiful semi-rural location with four acres of well-maintained grounds. We are a day school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 4 and 19 years who all have a formal Autism diagnosis and either SLD or MLD. We have a healthy referral stream that proudly and successfully delivers values-led education. We are known for our career progression routes and we attract professionals who are willing to contribute to our sustained success whilst embracing our family-ethos. The school have benefited from significant development which is due to continue ahead of the new academic year in September 2025.All of our students have ASD & SLD; and require patient staff willing to use an holistic and therapeutic approach. The successful candidate will have a passion for the teaching some of the most vulnerable students in society and a real will to make a difference to their lives (and that of their families).The role of the Therapy Assistant is to work within the Therapy Team across all disciplines to support our learners to achieve their outcomes in line with their ECHP. Duties will include:Assisting trained clinicians with the preparation, planning and delivery of group and one-to-one occupational therapeutic and recreational activitiesObserving recording and reporting to the assigned clinician as appropriateCreating appealing visual resources for sessionsManaging a caseload of studentsplanning, running, and recording 1:1 and group therapy sessions across various therapiesAssists with the assessment and transition of new learners ensuring they are familiar with the environmentCreation of initial supporting documentation such as Individual Placement Plans and Provision MapsEnsures the effective, timely and accurate updating of clinical records, case files and computerised information systems as directed while responding to routine enquiries and standard requests for information in accordance with policies and proceduresIT Skills such as word and excel to contribute to surveys, the collection, analysis and presentation of data and information as directedTo collate the agenda for and take notes from the weekly therapy meetingAs part of Aspris Children’s Services we are immensely proud of the career pathway and training we can offer you.
