Salary: £110+ per day

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm

Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term

We are working with a welcoming primary school in Bury to recruit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from 14th September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with a strong background supporting children who have additional needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team to provide personalised support, helping pupils access learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills.

The school offers a nurturing and inclusive environment where staff work together to ensure every child is supported to reach their full potential.

The Role

- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.

- Support children to access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.

- Assist with literacy, numeracy and targeted interventions.

- Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and social development.

- Follow individual support plans and EHCP targets.

- Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.

- Adapt activities and resources to suit individual learning needs.

- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

- Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team.

The Ideal Candidate

- Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.

- Experience within a primary school setting is advantageous.

- Patient, calm and compassionate in your approach.

- Confident supporting children on a 1:1 and small-group basis.

- Able to build positive relationships with pupils.

- Proactive and confident using your own initiative.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.

- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
