Summary

In-patient work on Willows (PICU), managing a total of 10 beds and jointly working with consultant, team manager and MDT. Management of complex cases with management of acute behavioural disturbance, including management of physical health. Clinical participation and engagement with MDT and supporting ward processes, including participation in and running ward reviews, formulation meetings and providing supervision to junior medical staff. Role in assessment of admissions, PICU gatekeeping and referral to other services. Care plan, risk and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness. Multi-disciplinary, multi-agency and partnership working including liaison and collaborative working with other services/agencies. Participation in seclusion reviews. Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act implementation. Attending tribunals and preparing the required reports. It is expected that the ethos enshrined within the MHA of working with patients and their families and carers to give dignified, individualised care, providing choice and autonomy in the least restrictive manner is core to the doctors practise.
