Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an experienced and motivatedBand 6 Clinical Practice Educatorto join our thrivingPaediatric Critical Care team. This exciting dual-role opportunity combines hands-on clinical practice with education and workforce development, allowing you to shape the future of paediatric critical care nursing while continuing to deliver exceptional patient care.
As a Clinical Practice Educator, you'll be an expert practitioner and role model, supporting staff across all stages of their professional development.
You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our workforce is equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver safe, evidence-based care to critically ill children and their families.

There is opportunity to complete Post Graduate Certificate in Education
Post holders will be expected to work a minimum of 23hrs per week across days, nights and weekend shifts.
Your Education Responsibilities
Working alongside the PCCU Education Team, you'll:
• Facilitate learning and development within the clinical environment.
• Support learners and newly developing staff through all stages of their professional journey.
• Identify training and development needs across the service.
• Develop, review and update educational resources and learning materials.
• Deliver and support specialist education programmes within Paediatric Critical Care and the wider Directorate.
• Promote evidence-based practice and contribute to a positive learning culture.
• Support workforce development initiatives that enhance patient safety and patient experience.
Your Clinical Responsibilities
Alongside your education role, you'll remain embedded within the Band 6 clinical workforce, where you'll:
• Provide clinical leadership and expert care for critically ill children.
• Deliver high-quality, individualised, family-centred care.
• Lead and support nursing teams during shifts.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Uphold and promote the PCCU Nursing Philosophy of Care.
• Support the day-to-day management of the unit in the absence of a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
• Act as a professional role model and mentor to colleagues.
Our Paediatric Critical Care service includes17 co-located Level 2 and Level 3 critical care beds, providing specialist care for children from Oxfordshire and across the Thames Valley and Wessex Paediatric Critical Care Operational Delivery Network.

The successful candidate will be able to work well within the team and be willing to work a mixed shift pattern including days and nights across the whole week. They will have experience of and enthusiasm for teaching and supporting staff development through a variety of methods. They will have significant post registration experience with a relevant course for Paediatric Critical Care, and experience / evidence of competency working as a Band 6 within Paediatric Critical Care. They will be a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent clinical and communication skills, with an ability to lead and motivate others.
