Summary

Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with an extremely well-regarded three-form-entry primary school in Widnes, who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a new Year 1 pupil with developmental delay.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become a key part of a pupil's educational journey, helping them develop their communication, confidence, independence and academic skills from the very beginning of their time at the school.

The vacancy is starting immediately and offers a full-time 32.5-hour week. Subject to funding, the position will last the academic year, giving you the opportunity to secure a substantial long-term placement within a highly supportive school.

Your new role:

You will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team, providing dedicated 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's individual developmental and educational needs.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll have the opportunity to see the impact of your support first-hand.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 speech and communication support

• Delivering targeted 1:1 interventions across literacy, numeracy and phonics

• Supporting the pupil with reading and comprehension

• Helping develop their confidence and ability to access the wider curriculum

• Providing positive and consistent behaviour support

• Building a strong, trusting and encouraging relationship with the pupil

• Supporting the pupil to develop greater independence and classroom engagement

• Working collaboratively with the class teacher and wider school team

• Monitoring progress and adapting support to meet the pupil's changing needs
