Summary
Analyse existing software applications and business requirements to determine requirements for new or modified software systems.
Design, develop, implement and maintain software applications and systems in accordance with technical specifications and business requirements.
Assess technical requirements and undertake feasibility analysis to determine appropriate software solutions.
Write, modify and maintain efficient, reliable and reusable program code according to agreed specifications.
Develop software components, modules, applications and system functionality using appropriate programming languages and development frameworks.
Design and develop user interfaces and application functionality to meet defined user and business requirements.
Integrate software applications with databases, APIs and other internal or external systems as required.
Test software programs and applications to identify coding errors, functional issues and technical defects.
Diagnose, troubleshoot and correct software defects to maintain application reliability and performance.
Review and improve existing software code to enhance functionality, efficiency, maintainability and performance.
Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance.
Develop and maintain technical documentation relating to software architecture, program code, system functionality and application configuration.
Work with technical teams and relevant stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective software solutions.
Implement software updates, enhancements and modifications in response to changing technical and business requirements.
Monitor application performance and investigate software-related issues to ensure systems operate effectively and reliably.
Apply appropriate software development standards, coding practices, version-control procedures and development methodologies.
Conduct code reviews and contribute to improvements in software quality, security, maintainability and development practices.
Provide technical input into the design and implementation of new software features, applications and system improvements.
