Summary
About the role
Price Managers are accountable for setting prices at Tesco. Working as part of a centralised team, you will combine retail knowledge, data science, and pricing expertise to
execute against Tesco’s pricing strategy. Successful candidates have an understanding of grocery retail, strong communication and Excel skills, good knowledge of
commercial operations and a desire to work across a diverse network of stakeholders in Tesco’s commercial business.
You will be responsible for
• Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence and have these specific risk responsibilities:
• Helping to develop the frameworks and insights that translate Tesco’s overall business strategy into commercial initiatives and pricing actions.
• Structuring and performing (or leading) the necessary analyses for strategic projects, such as price architecture or price investment.
• Translate the price strategy, framework, and pricing policies into clear and actionable recommendations by channel for approval and implementation.
• Work closely with the category teams to ensure our pricing recommendations are aligned with our commercial strategy and executed efficiently.
• Collaborating with teams across the wider business, including Category, Insight and Channel specialists, to identify current/potential opportunities and develop the right solutions for our customers and our business.
• Performing ad hoc research and analyses to diagnose recent performance and operational issues.
• Balancing and prioritising work across short-term projects and long-term initiatives.
• Staying up to date on relevant industry regulations, competitor news and best practices.
• Acting as a thought leader on pricing and related topics, representing the team throughout Tesco.
You will need
• Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint).
• Basic SQL.
• Desire to engage with internal science-based forecasting and optimisation systems.
