Summary

The Independent Living Coach provides housing related and practical independent living support to young people and adults who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, leaving care, moving through supported accommodation, or preparing for greater independence. The role supports clients to stabilise their housing situation, maintain their license agreement, build confidence, develop life skills and progress towards suitable move-on accommodation or longer-term independence.

A key expectation is to deliver practical, person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed support, recognising that young people and adults may be affected by poverty, family breakdown, care experience, poor physical or mental health, substance misuse, exploitation, domestic abuse, debt, unemployment, involvement in crime, social isolation, disrupted education, limited support networks or long-term homelessness. The role helps clients identify personal goals, engage with support, reduce risk and build the skills, confidence and resilience needed for adulthood, independent living and sustained accommodation.

Based in Devizes, Wiltshire working 37.5 hours per week with flexibility to cover other locations across the service.

Car driver required with access to a road worthy vehicle and business insurance.
