Salary: £38,784 - £46,049 p.a. (Grade 7)

Applications are invited for a 0.2 FTE fixed-term Lecturer in Law post within the North Wales School of Law.

The North Wales School of Law is a newly established School within Bangor University, bringing together Law, Criminology, Sociology and Policing. It builds on long-standing disciplinary strengths at Bangor and brings them together within a new structure focused on enhancing collaboration in teaching and research, and on driving forward growth and development across these priority areas.

Educated to PhD level in Law or related/relevant subject area (or near completion); or relevant professional experience in legal practice, the successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and committed individual with expertise in EU Law and experience of teaching in Higher Education or delivering legal training in a professional context.

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate EU Law module during Semester 2 of the 2026/27 academic year. The post would suit candidates seeking a fractional academic opportunity, including those with an academic background or relevant professional legal experience.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.

The post is intended to commence in October 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter and the post is available for a period of 6 months.

The role will be located on our Bangor campus. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work-life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.

Applications will only be accepted via our on-line recruitment website, jobs.bangor.ac.uk. However, in cases of access issues due to disability, paper application forms are available by telephoning 01248 383865.

Closing date for applications: 30 September 2026

Interviews will be held: w/c 19 October 2026 (provisional)
