Summary

What's involved with this role:

Triumph Consultants are looking for an Accounts Payable Officer to support the day-to-day operation of the Council's Purchase to Pay service. Contract is for 3 months in Portsmouth PO1 2AL.

Accounts Payable Officer

Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour PAYE

Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, 8:30-16:30

Contract length: 3 months

Location: Portsmouth PO1 2AL

Office-based

Key requirements:

Understanding of Purchase to Pay principles and processes.

Good numeracy, literacy and accurate data-entry skills.

Confident using Excel, Word, Outlook and financial systems such as Oracle EBS.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse information.

Clear communication, customer service and teamwork skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.

Key responsibilities

Raise purchase orders following budget holder instructions and approvals, resolving incomplete requests.

Process supplier invoices, obtain payment approval and meet agreed terms.

Resolve non-PO invoices by obtaining cost codes, approvals and justifications.

Make authorised payments, including requisitions and purchasing card payments.

Provide customer service and help improve Purchase to Pay processes.
