Summary
Key Responsibilities: Deliver a range of nursing services including chronic disease management (asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension), cervical cytology, childhood and adult immunisations, travel vaccinations and advice, contraceptive services, wound care, suture/staple removal, venepuncture, ECGs, and health promotion. Achieve immunisation targets and ensure the safe storage, handling, rotation, and disposal of vaccines and medications. Participate in safeguarding procedures, recognising and responding appropriately to child abuse, vulnerable adults, and other safeguarding concerns. Undertake emergency care, first aid, anaphylaxis, and resuscitation where required within the team. Work within your NMC scope of practice, following PGDs and clinical policies, referring to GPs as needed. Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records. Apply evidence-based practice and contribute to quality improvement and achievement of clinical targets. Demonstrate problem-solving and decision-making skills. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards at all times. Engage with the wider public health agenda, clinical governance, and local health initiatives where appropriate.
