Full time hours on a temporary basis

Key Responsibilities

Investigate alleged breaches of planning control and assess whether enforcement action is required.
Research planning histories, approved plans, permissions, and supporting documents relating to development sites.
Conduct site visits, inspections, measurements, and surveys to establish compliance with planning permissions.
Interview landowners, occupiers, developers, and members of the public and obtain statements where necessary.
Negotiate with individuals and organisations to secure voluntary compliance with planning regulations.
Prepare reports recommending appropriate enforcement action.
Draft and serve enforcement notices and other statutory documentation.
Liaise with Legal Services regarding enforcement proceedings, appeals, hearings, prosecutions, and court actions.
Prepare and present evidence for appeals, public inquiries, hearings, and court proceedings.
Respond to enquiries from councillors, residents, businesses, and other stakeholders.
Support proactive planning enforcement projects across the borough.
Promote community engagement and public awareness of planning compliance requirements.
Assist with enforcement activity relating to Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) regulations and other planning legislation.
