We are recruiting a compassionate and committed Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Birmingham. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex physical disabilities, helping them access a personalised and enriching education.

The school offers a welcoming and highly supportive environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their individual potential. Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils' learning, wellbeing, communication, and independence throughout the school day.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:

- Provide individual and small-group support for pupils with PMLD and complex physical disabilities

- Assist with personalised learning activities and sensory-based experiences that promote engagement and development

- Deliver personal care with dignity, respect, and professionalism

- Support pupils with mobility needs, including transfers and positioning where appropriate

- Follow individual care plans, therapy programmes, and EHCP targets to ensure consistent support

- Encourage communication, independence, and participation in daily activities

- Work closely with teachers, therapists, healthcare professionals, and support staff to provide a holistic approach to each pupil's development

- Maintain accurate records and report any concerns in line with safeguarding procedures

We're looking for someone who:

- Has experience supporting children, young people, or adults with PMLD, complex needs, or physical disabilities

- Is comfortable providing personal care as an essential part of the role

- Holds Manual Handling training or is willing to complete training provided

- Is patient, caring, and adaptable to the individual needs of each pupil

- Understands the importance of delivering person-centred support with dignity and respect

- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills

- Is reliable, proactive, and committed to building positive relationships with pupils and colleagues

- Has previous experience within education, healthcare, residential care, or support work (desirable)

When you join us, you'll benefit from:

- Long-term opportunities with the potential to secure a permanent position

- Competitive weekly pay through our streamlined digital payroll system

- Free CPD, including Manual Handling, Positive Handling, SEND Awareness, and Safeguarding training

- Ongoing guidance and support from a dedicated education consultant

- The opportunity to build valuable specialist SEND experience

- A rewarding role where you can make a genuine and lasting difference to the lives of children with complex needs

If you're passionate about supporting children with additional needs and want to be part of a dedicated team making a real impact every day, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today with your up-to-date CV to be considered for this rewarding opportunity.

Successful applicants will be contacted to discuss the role further and arrange a trial day.
