Summary

Tracks and Trails offer high-quality guided mountain adventure holidays, including hiking, trail running, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing across Europe. Every trip is carefully designed by experienced professional guides, with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.

Tracks and Trails are looking to appoint an Operations Manager to support the day-to-day running of trips, administration and the Programme Manager team.

Tracks and Trails is a small, collaborative team committed to exceeding our guests’ expectations, many of whom return to travel with us year after year.

Working closely with the Team and Directors, who also own the company, you will take responsibility for:

Operations Management

-Lead and support our Programme Managers, ensuring consistently high standards of service and trip delivery

-Oversee trip logistics, contracts, supplier agreements and booking management

-Manage programme budgets and ensure trips operate within agreed cost structures

-Lead operational troubleshooting, incident planning and risk management

-Maintain CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems and operational documentation to ensure programme readiness and transparency

-Oversee website content updates for new and existing trips

-Oversee travel logistics, including transfers, accommodation and ground transport

-Manage relationships with DMCs (Destination Management Companies), accommodation providers, transport companies, guides and instructors

-Communicate professionally with guests, suppliers and colleagues

-Continually improve systems and processes to increase efficiency and guest satisfaction

-Work with the Directors to oversee safety and risk management, ensuring consistently high operational standards

-Maintain and support the development of safety management systems, audits, risk assessments, emergency procedures and operating protocols to ensure best-practice standards

-Support live trip operations and, alongside the Directors, manage any incidents or crisis situations as they arise

Business to Business (B2B) Trip Management

-Manage a small but growing portfolio of B2B (Business2Business) trips, including logistics and all aspects of delivery

Sales Objectives

-Support the management of monthly and annual revenue, booking and passenger targets

Marketing Objectives

-Monitor sales performance to ensure trips are promoted effectively and at the right time

Future Operations

-Design, develop and launch new trips, ensuring they are safe, seamless, commercially viable and sustainable

-Support B2B development opportunities by building strong partnerships, assessing quality and safety, and negotiating pricing and contractual terms

Supporting our Commitment to Sustainable Travel

-Help drive our sustainable tourism strategy, ensuring responsible travel that positively impacts the people and places we visit

Supporting the ongoing success of Tracks and Trails

-Work as part of the management team to help shape the future direction of the business
