Summary
The GP will manage a varied caseload, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within a primary care setting. Responsibilities include consultations, home visits, prescribing, and contributing to the overall clinical and operational functioning of the practice. Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties Conduct in person, telephone and online consultations, home visits, and health assessments Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions Prescribe in-line with national and GMMMG recommendations; issue repeat and acute prescriptions Maintain accurate, timely clinical records Develop care plans, provide health education, and refer patients when necessary Practice Involvement Participate in audits, significant event analyses, and quality improvement Contribute to the maintenance of electronic health records Engage in team meetings, clinical governance, and training events Compliance & Confidentiality Adhere to practice policies on confidentiality, data protection, safeguarding, and prescribing Handle patient and practice information with strict confidentiality Health & Safety / Infection Control Maintain a clean, safe working environment Follow infection control policies and lead by example in safe practice Use PPE appropriately and train others when needed Equality & Diversity Respect the rights, beliefs, and privacy of patients and colleagues Deliver care in a non-judgmental, inclusive manner Professional Development Engage in CPD, appraisals, and mandatory training Contribute to staff training and peer learning as appropriate Teamwork & Communication Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and colleagues Adapt communication styles for diverse needs Service Development Support implementation of practice policies and new services Participate in audits and service evaluations
