A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Crime & Sanctions Advisory to join its General Counsel and Risk function in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical expertise across AML/CTF and international sanctions to provide advisory support, contribute to strategic financial crime projects and help strengthen the firm's risk and compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day advice to stakeholders on AML/CTF and sanctions compliance.

Act as an escalation point for complex sanctions matters.

Support the assessment and management of financial crime risks arising from new business and client onboarding.

Advise on unusual activity reports and complex financial crime referrals.

Contribute to strategic projects relating to AML/CTF and regulatory change.

Support the development and implementation of financial crime policies, controls and procedures.

Conduct risk assessments and gap analyses, identifying areas for improvement.

Support the investigation and resolution of financial crime and sanctions incidents, including remediation and lessons learned.

Assist with regulatory enquiries, audits, industry surveys and preparation of supporting documentation.

The successful candidate will have:

A degree and at least four years' experience within a regulated financial crime environment.

Strong technical knowledge of AML/CTF regulations and legislation.

In-depth knowledge of international sanctions regimes, including OFSI, OFAC, EU and Australian requirements.

Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.

The ability to handle complex and highly confidential matters with discretion.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.

Experience within a professional services, legal or similarly complex regulated environment would be advantageous.
