The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join this friendly, well-established practice in a popular coastal town.

This is an excellent opportunity for a vet who enjoys both consulting and surgery and is looking for a practice that genuinely invests in its people. Whether you're looking to further your surgical skills, work towards a certificate or simply join a supportive team where clinical standards and work-life balance are equally valued, you'll be fully supported.

You'll become part of a collaborative team consisting of

5 experienced veterinary surgeons (including a Senior Clinical Director), an exceptional nursing team, dedicated patient care assistants and an experienced reception team, all working together to provide outstanding patient and client care.

They actively encourage clinical freedom, knowledge sharing and professional development, and are keen to welcome someone who enjoys contributing ideas and supporting colleagues.

The Role

This is a varied first-opinion position with an excellent balance of consulting and surgery.

You'll enjoy:

• A varied medical and surgical caseload

• At least

one dedicated surgery day each week, with two where the rota allows

• Are confident with routine small animal consultations and surgery

The Practice

The practice is proud of their welcoming culture and supportive environment where everyone works together to achieve the best outcomes for patients and clients.

• The current team includes:

• Senior Clinical Director

• Four Veterinary Surgeons

• Two Head Nurses (job share)

• Seven Registered Veterinary Nurses

• One Student Veterinary Nurse

• Two Patient Care Assistants

• Dedicated reception team of eight, including an experienced Head Receptionist

The practice is continually investing in its facilities. Alongside their modern surgical equipment, digital dental radiography and in-house diagnostics, they are also due to receive a

brand-new digital X-ray system within the next 12 months, further enhancing their diagnostic capabilities.

They've recently launched an advanced membership, helping clients access unlimited consultations and preventative healthcare while strengthening long-term client relationships.

For more advanced procedures, you'll also benefit from close links with a nearby RCVS-accredited hospital offering endoscopy, laparoscopy and out-of-hours support.

Work-Life Balance

They know enjoying your career starts with having time outside of work too.

Their rota has been designed with this in mind:

• 40-hour working week

• Working between

8am and 7pm

• A regular weekday off every week

• Only

3 Saturday mornings in every 12 weeks (8:30am-12:30pm)

• No routine afternoon Saturdays

• One-hour protected lunch break every day

• Around

5 hours of protected administration time built into each day

Structured appointments:

• Vaccinations – 15 minutes

• Standard consultations – 20 minutes

• Re-examinations – 20 minutes

• Emergency and book-on-day appointments – 30 minutes

• Euthanasia appointments – 30 minutes

This thoughtful approach allows vets the time they need to provide excellent patient care without feeling rushed.
