Summary

The Mental Health Rapid Response Worker will provide compassionate, person-centred care and therapeutic engagement to patients experiencing mental health difficulties or crisis, promoting their safety, dignity and wellbeing at all times. The post holder will complete patient observations in line with care requirements, provide reassurance and support to patients who may be distressed or vulnerable, and respond appropriately to changing levels of risk. The role will include the safe and respectful transportation of patients between healthcare settings, including those subject to the provisions of the Mental Health Act, working alongside clinical teams, emergency services and partner agencies where required. The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues across Urgent Care and other healthcare services, communicating effectively to support continuity of care and patient safety. They will respond calmly and professionally to incidents and challenging situations, follow relevant policies, procedures and risk management plans, and escalate concerns appropriately. The role also required flexibility to undertake a range of ad hoc duties in response to the changing needs of the service, while maintaining confidentiality and handling patient information in accordance with NHS policies, legislation and professional standards.
