Sports Coaches / Teaching Assistants to work within schools across
Chelmsford and the surrounding areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a background in
sports coaching, physical education, youth work or mentoring who are passionate about supporting children and young people both inside and outside the classroom.
The Role
As a Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant, you will use your coaching and relationship-building skills to support pupils with their education, behaviour and personal development.
Your responsibilities may include:
•
Supporting pupils within the classroom on a 1:1 and small-group basis
•
Assisting teachers with lessons and classroom activities
•
Delivering and supporting PE, sports and physical activities
•
Using sport to encourage teamwork, confidence and positive behaviour
•
Supporting pupils who may struggle with engagement or behaviour
•
Acting as a positive role model and mentor for pupils
•
Helping pupils develop resilience, discipline and communication skills
•
Supporting children with SEND and additional learning needs where required
•
Supervising pupils during break times, activities and sports sessions
•
Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging school environment
The Ideal Candidate
We would love to hear from you if you:

Have experience in
sports coaching, PE, youth work or working with children and young people
•
Are energetic, confident and able to motivate pupils
•
Have strong behaviour management and communication skills
•
Are passionate about sport and its ability to positively engage young people
•
Can build strong and professional relationships with pupils
•
Are patient, resilient and adaptable
•
Are comfortable supporting pupils both in the classroom and during physical activities
•
Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Previous classroom experience is desirable but not essential. Sports coaches looking to gain experience within education are strongly encouraged to apply.
