The role offers an opportunity to work within a local transport environment, carrying out scheduled driving duties while maintaining safe, reliable and professional service standards.The roleWe are seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for temporary daytime work in the Shepton Mallet area. You will be responsible for completing planned deliveries and collections safely, efficiently and in line with legal and operational requirements.Key responsibilities• Drive an HGV Class 1 vehicle on planned routes• Complete trunking work and scheduled journeys• Operate curtainsider vehicles safely• Carry out vehicle checks before and after journeys• Secure loads appropriately and report any issues• Complete delivery paperwork and other required records• Maintain a professional standard when dealing with site contacts• Follow all relevant road safety, transport and company proceduresSkills and qualifications• Valid HGV Class 1 entitlement• Relevant professional driving experience• Experience of trunking work• Experience using curtainsider vehicles• Good knowledge of road safety and vehicle checks• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently• Professional approach to customers and other road users• Required driver documentation and legal eligibility to workBenefits• £17 per hour• Day shifts• Temporary employment• Paid every Wednesday• Opportunity to be visible to local employersIf you are a dependable HGV Class 1 Driver looking for temporary daytime work in Shepton Mallet, apply today.
