Summary
A Domiciliary Care Worker provides compassionate, person-centred care in clients' homes, supporting them to maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
- Supporting clients with mobility and daily living activities.
- Preparing meals and assisting with eating and drinking where required.
- Administering or prompting medication in accordance with care plans and policies.
- Providing companionship and emotional support.
- Carrying out light household tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable home environment.
- Monitoring clients’ wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor or healthcare professional.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential care records.
- Following individual care plans, safeguarding procedures, health and safety requirements, and infection-control guidelines.
- Promoting clients’ independence, choice, privacy, and dignity at all times.
