About the role
Gypcraft Drylining Contractors Ltd is looking for
2 Trainee Dryliners to join their team and work on live construction projects in Southwark.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who is reliable, hardworking and genuinely interested in developing a long-term career in the construction industry. You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople while developing practical drylining skills and completing a
Level 2 Interior Systems Installer Apprenticeship.
What you'll be doing
- Working on live construction sites and supporting project delivery
- Preparing work areas and moving materials
- Measuring, cutting and installing plasterboard
- Installing walls, partitions and other interior systems
- Installing suspended ceilings, raised floors, insulation and soundproofing systems
- Using hand and power tools safely
- Reading and following drawings, plans and specifications
- Sealing and finishing plasterboard joints
- Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe
- Following all site health & safety procedures
- Maintaining an apprenticeship logbook and portfolio
- Developing your skills and working more independently as your experience grows
What we're looking for
Essential:
- CSCS card -
- GCSE Maths -
- Willingness to learn and develop a skilled trade
- Good physical fitness and stamina
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Reliable and punctual
- Good communication and organisation skills
- Strong commitment to health and safety
Red or Green (Grade Pass)
Grade 4+
Desirable:
- GCSE English - Grade 4+
- Relevant construction experience or qualifications
Important information
This is a
physically demanding construction role. You should be comfortable with:
- Regular lifting, carrying and positioning of construction materials
- Standing, bending and overhead work for extended periods
- Working at height where required
- Working in active construction environments with dust, noise and changing temperatures
- Working outdoors and in different weather conditions when required
- Working to deadlines and project programmes
You must have a
genuine interest in learning a skilled trade and building a career in construction. Reliability, consistent attendance and following site rules are essential.
Apprenticeship
You will work towards a
Level 2 Interior Systems Installer Apprenticeship, gaining practical experience on site alongside your apprenticeship training.
