Summary

Sexual Health Hertfordshire is seeking an Outreach Team Leader to coordinate and oversee sexual health education and outreach programmes across Hertfordshire.

This role offers an opportunity to lead and support a skilled outreach team, develop and deliver targeted health promotion and prevention campaigns, and help ensure services are accessible to individuals and communities who may benefit most. The post holder will build and maintain effective partnerships with local pharmacies, voluntary and community organisations, healthcare professionals, educational settings, and other key stakeholders to maximise the reach and impact of the service.

We are looking for someone who is committed to reducing health inequalities, promoting sexual wellbeing, and engaging diverse communities through innovative and evidence-informed approaches. Strong leadership, communication, and partnership-working skills are important, along with the ability to work collaboratively across organisations to improve sexual health outcomes for Hertfordshire residents.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to public health while leading a supportive and dedicated outreach team.

We welcome applications from clinical and allied health professionals, and from candidates with relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in areas such as sexual health, public health, psychology, health promotion, community engagement, or related fields.

• Lead clinically focused outreach services for vulnerable and at-risk populations.

• Deliver accessible, evidence-based healthcare interventions, including testing, vaccinations, and prevention initiatives.

• Manage the Hertfordshire National Chlamydia Screening Programme and condom distribution schemes.

• Ensure services meet local and national targets through data-driven population health approaches.

• Provide leadership, supervision, and support to the outreach team, promoting continuous improvement.

• Build effective partnerships to enhance service accessibility, engagement, and outcomes.

• Lead community needs assessments and support education, prevention, and health promotion activities.

Act as deputy for Team Leads, supporting wider clinical and operational priorities.
