In this role, you will provide person-centred assistance, encouragement, and practical support to help individuals develop their confidence, maintain their well-being, and live as independently as possible. You will promote dignity, choice, inclusion, and respect while creating a safe and supportive environment in which every individual feels valued and empowered.

This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute positively to the community while gaining valuable experience in adult social care, safeguarding, and person-centred support.

Key Responsibilities

Build positive and trusting professional relationships with the adults you support.

Provide practical and emotional support in accordance with each individual’s needs, preferences, and care plan.

Assist with daily living activities, which may include personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, medication support, shopping, appointments, and community activities.

Encourage individuals to develop and maintain independent living skills.

Support participation in social, recreational, educational, and community-based activities.

Promote choice, dignity, privacy, equality, and independence at all times.

Provide encouragement through active listening, positive reinforcement, and respectful communication.

Monitor individuals’ well-being and accurately record their progress, activities, and any concerns.

Communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues, families, healthcare professionals, and other relevant agencies.

Identify and report safeguarding concerns promptly and in accordance with organisational procedures.

Follow all care plans, risk assessments, health and safety requirements, and company policies.

Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and protect confidential information.

Experience and Skills

Previous experience supporting adults in a health, social care, residential, supported-living, or community setting is desirable.

A caring, patient, respectful, and non-judgemental approach.

The ability to encourage, motivate, and empower individuals through positive engagement.

An understanding of person-centred care and the importance of promoting independence.

Awareness of adult safeguarding, confidentiality, equality, diversity, and dignity in care.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

The ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in challenging situations.

Good observational, organisational, and record-keeping skills.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A willingness to complete relevant training and continue developing professionally.

Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, where required.

Join Our Team

Join us in creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where adults can live with dignity, confidence, and greater independence. We welcome compassionate and dependable individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and making a lasting difference in their community.
