Summary

Job Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Community Care Workers to join our team in the Coventry/Nuneaton area. The ideal candidates will provide high-quality support to individuals within their own homes, ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives by delivering personalised care tailored to each individual's needs. The Care Workers will work closely with care plans and communicate effectively with clients and team members to promote independence and dignity.

Due to NurseGate UK being awarded a contract to provide Community Care services commencing in October 2026, selected candidates will commence employment in September 2026.

Duties

1. Personal Care Support:

Assist clients with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, in a manner that respects their dignity and privacy.

Provide assistance with mobility and transfers, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients at all times.

Support clients with eating and drinking, including meal preparation and feeding where required.

Assist with medication administration, ensuring medication is taken as prescribed and in line with company policies.

2. Daily Living Support:

Assist clients with domestic tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping, helping them maintain a clean and safe living environment.

Support clients with social and leisure activities, encouraging them to participate in hobbies, outings, and community involvement.

Help clients with managing their finances, including paying bills or managing budgets, where appropriate.

Ensure clients’ homes are safe and secure, reporting any potential hazards or issues that may affect their well-being.

3. Health and Wellbeing Monitoring:

Observe and report any changes in the health, condition, or behavior of clients, ensuring any concerns are communicated to the appropriate healthcare professionals or family members.

Assist in the implementation of care plans, working closely with healthcare providers, social workers, and family members to ensure that care is consistent with the client’s needs.

Maintain a safe and supportive environment, helping to manage health conditions such as diabetes, dementia, or mobility issues as per the care plan.

4. Emotional and Social Support:

Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, helping reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.

Encourage clients to maintain social connections and engage in their local community.

Promote clients’ independence by encouraging them to make decisions about their care, lifestyle, and routines.

5. Record Keeping and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, including daily logs, medication administration, and any changes in the client’s condition.

Report any incidents or concerns promptly to the Care Manager or senior staff members in accordance with company procedures.

Ensure that care documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner, and in line with regulatory standards, including Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines.

6. Compliance and Safeguarding:

Adhere to all relevant company policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality.

Be vigilant in ensuring the safety and welfare of clients, reporting any safeguarding concerns or potential risks to management.

Ensure that all personal care and support is provided in a respectful, professional, and non-discriminatory manner, adhering to the principles of equality and diversity.

7. Teamwork and Communication:

Work collaboratively with other care workers, family members, and healthcare professionals to provide holistic and coordinated care for clients.

Attend team meetings and participate in training sessions to develop your knowledge and skills.

Communicate effectively with clients and their families, ensuring that their needs and preferences are understood and respected.

Requirements

Valid driving licence and own vehicle

Previous experience providing home care

Knowledge of care plans and ability to implement them effectively

Good command of English, both spoken and written, for clear communication

Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and colleagues

Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Flexibility to adapt to changing needs of clients and schedules
