You will support the safe and reliable movement of goods, completing deliveries and collections in a professional and timely manner.Key responsibilities• Carry out deliveries and collections safely and efficiently• Complete vehicle checks before and after each journey• Load, secure and unload goods in line with safety procedures• Follow planned routes and delivery instructions• Complete delivery paperwork accurately• Provide professional customer service at delivery points• Report any vehicle, delivery or operational issues promptly• Comply with road traffic law, site rules and company proceduresSkills and qualifications• A valid HGV Class 2 driving licence• Experience driving rigid goods vehicles• A valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)• A valid digital tachograph card• Good knowledge of road safety and drivers’ hours requirements• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious• Able to work independently and manage time effectively• Good communication and customer service skills• Physically able to assist with loading and unloading duties where requiredAbout the companyThis employer operates in the cash-and-carry and wholesale sector in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.
