Summary
At Jewish Care, we support people to live independently, with dignity and connection at the heart of everything we do. Our Retirement Living services offer a vibrant, supportive community where tenants can enjoy their independence, knowing care and support are there when needed.
About the role
This isn’t a typical care role.
As a Care & Support Worker, you’ll support tenants living in their own flats—helping them stay independent, connected, and in control of their lives. From practical support to companionship, you’ll build meaningful relationships and play a key role in creating a strong community.
There is a genuine occupational requirement, in accordance with the Sex Discrimination Act 1974, for the postholder to be female.
We are seeking experienced Support Workers who can provide bank/ relief nights and can work all the following shifts throughout the week
12 hrs shifts, 7 pm-7 am, ideally the candidates would be able to cover at least two shifts a week..
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting tenants with personal care and daily living
- Promoting independence, choice, and dignity
- Building trusted relationships with tenants and their families
- Supporting wellbeing through social activities and community engagement
- Working with health and social care professionals to provide joined-up support
- Keeping accurate records and using care planning systems
What we’re looking for
- Caring, compassionate, and respectful
- A great communicator who enjoys building relationships
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable supporting people with different needs, including dementia
- Willing to learn and develop
Experience in care is helpful but not essential—we provide full training.
What makes this role different
- You’ll support people in their own homes, not a care home setting
- A strong focus on independence and choice
- A real sense of community and connection
- Opportunities to build long-term, meaningful relationships
What you’ll get in return
- Full training and ongoing development
- A supportive, friendly team
- Opportunities to progress within health and social care
- A role where you can make a genuine difference every day
Why this role matters
For many of our tenants, you’re the person who helps them stay independent, feel safe, and remain connected to their community. Your support helps them continue living life on their terms.
