Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Psychological Therapist for our Bedford Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment team. The postholder will work closely with the leadership team of the CRHT, and the other Principal Psychological Therapists across the Crisis Pathway.
The CRHTs form an integral part of the Crisis pathway where people experiencing a mental health crisis are supported by a multidisciplinary team through short term support and intervention. The CRHTs liaise with other teams across the Crisis pathway as well as inpatient and community services. The Principal Psychologist in each team holds an important role in contributing with psychological knowledge to the care plan, offer psychological assessments and brief interventions. They also form part of the leadership of the team contributing to strategic planning.
We are looking for a Principal Psychologist who is able to engage positively and sensitively with people with mental health difficulties and their support networks, and be able to demonstrate an awareness of experiences and challenges that may face someone experiencing a crisis in their mental health. The ability to work collaboratively with other professions is a central part of the post in order to provide holistic care within a biopsychosocial model. The clinical work is undertaken within mental health settings in the Trust, across a range of community resources and occasionally in service-users' own homes.
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations
