Summary

Project Worker - Complex Needs

Location: SW1P 2BN

Pay: £14.85 per hour + Holiday Pay

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Temporary, Ongoing

⏰ Shifts: Monday-Friday, rota basis | 8:00am-4:00pm / 1:00pm-9:00pm

Rota: One week early shifts followed by one week late shifts

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced

Project Worker - Complex Needs to join a residential support service in SW1P 2BN. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting people affected by

homelessness, complex needs, trauma, mental health, substance misuse or multiple disadvantage.

You will hold a caseload of up to 10 clients, providing person-centred and psychologically informed support to help residents progress towards greater independence and suitable move-on accommodation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of up to
  • 10 key clients, conducting regular key-working sessions and developing person-centred, trauma-informed support plans.

  • Complete comprehensive
  • risk and needs assessments, support plans and safety plans.

  • Build trusting relationships with individuals who may be reluctant or ambivalent about engaging with support.
  • Provide psychologically informed support to residents experiencing
  • complex needs, trauma, substance misuse, mental health challenges and challenging behaviours.

  • Respond appropriately to incidents involving hospital presentations, substance use, aggression and conflict.
  • Support residents to progress towards
  • step-down accommodation and independent living, removing unnecessary barriers to move-on.

  • Contribute to the delivery, evaluation and development of the service's in-house recovery programme.
  • Support residents to maximise
  • benefit entitlements, challenge sanctions or suspensions and access appropriate financial support.

  • Work with individuals with
  • No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) to identify appropriate sources of income and access essential services.

  • Develop residents' independent
  • budgeting, money management and tenancy sustainment skills.

  • Support effective rent collection, identify and minimise arrears and contribute to reducing void loss.
  • Complete room, locality, health & safety and property checks in line with housing management procedures.
  • Monitor, record and follow up maintenance issues within the scheme.
  • Respond to referrals within agreed timescales and maintain accurate case records using relevant IT and database systems.
  • Work collaboratively with
  • multi-agency professionals and specialist services to develop effective support and safety plans.

✅ Experience Required

  • Experience supporting people who have experienced or are at risk of
  • homelessness, including temporary or insecure accommodation.

  • Strong
  • case management and key-working experience with individuals presenting complex needs or challenging behaviours.

  • Experience producing high-quality, personalised
  • support plans, risk assessments and safety plans.

  • Understanding of
  • trauma, adversity and multiple disadvantage and their impact on engagement with services.

  • Knowledge of issues affecting people experiencing homelessness, including mental health, substance misuse, financial difficulties and social exclusion.
  • Ability to work effectively with
  • multi-agency and specialist professionals.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, particularly when supporting individuals who are initially reluctant to engage.
  • Understanding of relevant mental health legislation and its application within support services.
  • Good IT skills, including
  • Microsoft Office and database/case management systems.
