Summary
Central Recruitment is working with a London-based charity dedicated to preventing homelessness and supporting individuals in rebuilding their lives.
Our client is currently recruiting for a Complex Needs Project Worker to work at a 68 bed men's hostel in the Westminster area. The service provides 24/7 specialist support to clients with a variety of support needs including substance use, mental health difficulties, rough sleeping and criminal justice contact.
• 37.5 hours per week
• Working across Monday - Friday on a rota basis
• Shifts: 08:00 - 16:00 and 13:00 - 21:00, one week of early shifts followed by one week of lates on rotation
• Temporary: approx. 2 months
• £17.14 per hour (£15.29 per hour, with £1.85 holiday pay)
This is a fantastic opportunity to provide valuable support to vulnerable men on their path to independence.
Key responsibilities:
• Manage a caseload of up to 10 clients, providing person-centred, trauma-informed support
• Complete risk and needs assessments and develop support and safety plans
• Respond to complex needs using a psychologically informed approach
• Process referrals within agreed timescales
• Support residents to progress to step-down accommodation
• Assist with the delivery and development of the recovery programme
• Support residents with benefits, budgeting and financial independence
• Support those with NRPF to access income and essential services
• Help minimise rent arrears, void loss and maximise rental income
• Ensure void rooms are prepared and re-let promptly
• Monitor and follow up maintenance issues
• Complete room, locality and health and safety checks
What we’re looking for:
• Experience supporting people affected by homelessness or insecure accommodation
• Case/key working experience with people with complex needs and behaviours
• Ability to create high-quality, personalised support and safety plans
• Understanding of trauma, adversity and multiple disadvantage
• Knowledge of mental health legislation and its application
• Understanding of the causes and impact of homelessness
• Ability to work effectively with multi-agency professionals
• Strong engagement skills, including with people reluctant to access support
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems
Further requirements:
In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Current valid right to work in the UK
• Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
• A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
• Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
