Location: Tameside, Greater Manchester

Salary: £34,068-£52,885 FTE, pro rata for 3 days per week (DOE)

Contract: Permanent | Part-time | 3 days per week

Start Date: September 2026

We are working with a specialist education setting in Tameside, Greater Manchester, to recruit a Permanent Science Teacher for three days per week.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Science Teacher who wants to work in a smaller, supportive setting, with the opportunity to build strong relationships with pupils and have a genuine impact on their education and development.

You will teach Science to pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, working within small classes and adapting your teaching to meet individual needs. The setting provides a calm and structured environment for pupils who may have experienced difficulties within mainstream education.

The Role

As the Science Teacher, you will:

- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons suited to pupils with a range of abilities and additional needs.

- Teach small classes, enabling a more personalised approach to learning.

- Adapt curriculum content, resources and teaching methods to individual pupils.

- Create a calm, consistent and positive classroom environment.

- Develop strong and trusting relationships with pupils.

- Support pupils with SEND, SEMH and barriers to learning.

- Encourage positive attitudes towards education, confidence and independence.

- Monitor and assess pupil progress and contribute to individual learning plans.

- Work closely with support staff and colleagues to provide consistent support.

- Help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and resilient Science Teacher who can combine strong subject knowledge with a nurturing and individualised approach.

You will ideally have:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

- Experience teaching Science within a UK school.

- Experience or a strong understanding of SEND and/or SEMH.

- The ability to differentiate and adapt lessons effectively.

- Strong classroom management and communication skills.

- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils who may have struggled in mainstream education.

- A patient, consistent and encouraging approach.

- A genuine commitment to helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

Experience within specialist education, SEMH, SEND, alternative provision or other non-mainstream settingswould be advantageous.
