About the role:
As a Senior Social Worker in the Through Care (0-14) Team, you will manage a complex caseload of looked after children, ensuring they receive high-quality support, care and permanence planning. Working within the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Signs of Safety framework, you will champion strengths based practice, support colleagues through sharing knowledge and expertise, and work
alongside multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
About you:
You will:
• Hold a recognised Social Work qualification and Social Care Wales registration.
• Be an experienced statutory social work practitioner with strong knowledge of looked after children, care planning and permanency planning.
• Be passionate about ensuring the voice of the child is at the centre of all assessment, planning and decision-making.
• Have experience of undertaking court work and preparing high-quality assessments, care plans and reports.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, carers and partner agencies.
• Be confident supporting and guiding colleagues, sharing best practice and contributing to a positive and reflective team culture.
What you will do:
You will:
• Hold a caseload of Looked After Children, applying Signs of Safety principles to promote safety, stability and timely permanence.
• Complete high-quality assessments, care plans, reports and court statements to progress plans for children.
• Undertake direct work with children, families and carers to ensure their views and experiences inform planning and decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with health, education, CAMHS, police, advocates and other partner agencies to develop effective support and safety networks.
• Contribute to the development of colleagues through coaching, mentoring and sharing best practice.
• Support the Team Manager in maintaining high standards of practice,
performance and outcomes for children.
